Today is September 11, 2024; a day that frequently rolls off the lips of Americans as 9/11. It’s been 23 years since two planes crashed into the Twin Towers, a plane went down in a field in Pennsylvania, and there was a plane crash in Washington, D.C.

What has happened since then? On September 10, 2001, was there a complete fear of Muslims? I’m sure there was prejudice because there is always a prejudice in society. I’ve even experienced it as a Catholic. However, were they called terrorists on the way to the mosque?

We had a war that seemed to never end and we have Guantanemo Bay where harsh terrorists are kept alive and tortured for nothing but fun by some unruly soldiers.

There’s nothing more that can be said, but thank you to the people in the field–soldiers, doctors, medics, aid workers, engineers, the list goes on. Thank you to those who fell. Thank you to those who survived terrible attacks. Thank you to those who have nightmares for the rest of their lives.
