In the British television version of “Sherlock” with Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Watson, from the original books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Watson gets married. In the show, they have a baby together, Sherlock consistently suggests his name for the baby, but they know they are having a girl and frequently say, “It’s not a girl’s name.”

I disagree. I named my female cat Sherlock because I was obsessed with the show when I adopted her six years ago. (Adopt don’t shop!) It has the words “she” and “her” in the name; therefore, a perfectly female name. The one thing about my Sherlock is she doesn’t find things as much as lose things. However, she is an extraordinary cat, if she is on my lap and I have to go to the bathroom, I tell her so and she will get off my lap. She is a good cat, except when I don’t give her yogurt.
Funny thing about when I adopted Sherlock. I was originally going to adopt her sister, Einstein, but Einstein threw up on the adoption papers. Hopefully it was just a temporary stomach bug. So, I felt like a jerk, but I adopted Einstein’s sister, with the original name of Newton, sight unseen. She was born in March, but I adopted her on November 10th, the day before my birthday. Well, I should say, my mother adopted her for me with a glare and said, “This is your Christmas present.”
