I’m sure the sun and moon are getting ready for April 8th, I mean, after all, it is their day.

We just had a solar eclipse in 2017 and the next one won’t be until 2040. You MUST have special sunglasses in order to view the eclipse or else your retina could be damaged; regular sunglasses will not work.

You can get get free solar eclipse eyeglasses at Warby Parker, Smoothie King and Sonic Drive-In. In addition, many places are selling solar eclipse eyeglasses, like Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Kroger.

It is possible to watch the eclipse without glasses. Health News Florida has written a great article about how to watch the solar eclipse and here is what they have to say to say about how to watch the eclipse without glasses: Poke a hole through a piece of cardstock or cardboard, hold it up during the eclipse and look down to see a partial crescent projected below. Holding up a colander or a cracker will produce a similar effect.

I got lucky, my dad’s an astronomer, and he chose one of the best places in Ohio to view the solar eclipse. So, that’s where I’ll be on April 8th. Of course, with my luck, I will be pitching When in Juarez in a wooded area on April 6th. I pray that the WiFi is good.
