As I told you in “A Girl’s Allowed to Vacillate” I changed my topic that I’m going to pitch three weeks before I pitch it. I know, I’m like so smart. At any rate, I had forgotten I was bringing it to be critiqued to the Cincinnati Fiction Writer’s group on March 4. My deadline has been moved up. I can see the sun beaming off the blade of the guillotine. Perhaps a bit too visual, sorry.
I have been working around the clock to get this thing done, but I have hypersomnia (the opposite of insomnia) and need to take a nap after every hour I write. It is so fun being me. I actually fell asleep twice during therapy (it was over Zoom) and when the therapist asked if I was sleeping, I emphatically denied it. “Absolutely not! I did not fall asleep!” I’ll take my lies to confession.
I know I made the right decision in changing topics, I just hope I don’t get so overwhelmed by the anxiety of it that I write poorly or that I can’t come up with ideas, because all of that would be really bad.
I just wish I could leap over this day and have all the work be done too.
