There is one month where midnight on the 25th of the month is something a kid waits eagerly for the entire year.
However, I imagine most kids, are excited for the wrong reason, but it’s still nice to see the magic in their eyes when they see the tree on Christmas morning.

Or a full stocking…

But wait, what is the right reason? I knew when I was a kid, but I barely remember as an adult because I don’t go to church anymore. Oh yes, Jesus was born.

6While they were there, the time came for her to have her child,
7and she gave birth to her firstborn son.* She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8* Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.
9The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear..
10The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.
12And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”
13And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
14Glory to God in the highest
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15When the angels went away from them to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.”
16So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.
17When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child.
18All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds.
19And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.
20Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.
Luke 2:6-20
That’s what Christmas is all about and because there is so much stuff surrounding it, people think it is the Super Bowl of Christian holidays, when in fact the biggest celebration is Easter.
I am still a little kid, it’s 1:10 in the morning, but I missed Santa.

Even though I’m yawning, I am waiting for my best friend to wake up so we can do presents. I may take a nap or I may have a pot of coffee.
A nap sounds nice. Maybe Santa will come again and I’ll get to hug him for showing us how to give and be kind.
I mean, he is after all, the physical representation of giving which is why he exists past childhood.

No matter what religion you are, if you celebrate the giving and family part of Christmas, I hope your celebration goes well.
If you are on the lonely side and need to talk to someone call 988.

Don’t forget, you are love and loved.
Merry Christmas!
