Missing Words

Have you ever had a moment of joy and you played out how you were going to tell loved ones and what their reaction would be?

The moment comes–you share your joy and they act like they have just heard a weather report.

This happened to me once.

Something very exciting happened in my life and I expected my loved ones to say, “Congratulations! That’s great!”

Instead I got, “I am Switzerland in your decision.” However, I did get, “I’m happy that you are happy.” That’s something I suppose.

I applied for school and was chosen for one of 35 spots. I feel like calling the pope because that was a miracle.

No one I have known my entire life has said Congratulations.

I suppose it’s okay because it is just a word, but sometimes we need certain words to validate our decisions.
